Description

The Foundation for the Young Theatre Bonn – JTB Foundation, based in North Rhine-Westphalia, supports the most visited children’s and youth theatre nationwide by systematically dismantling economic, social, cultural, as well as physical and sensory barriers. Measures that enable cultural participation for all visitors are financed from the proceeds of the foundation’s assets as well as through donations from patrons and sponsors. These include, for example, sign language interpreting and live audio description of selected performances. Moreover, the support ensures the ongoing maintenance and modernization of the listed theatre building and sustainably improves comfort in the auditorium. Ongoing applications can be submitted at any time to the artistic director, thus guaranteeing continuous support for projects and needs.

In particular, children, adolescents, families, and people with physical or sensory impairments benefit from the course offerings of the drama school realized within the framework of the funding, as well as from reduced admission to theatre performances. Private applicants are eligible for funding and can apply for grants for barrier-reducing measures, technical equipment, or structural adaptations. The initiative’s goal is to preserve the play and educational offerings in the long term and to sustainably strengthen art, culture, and education by removing various obstacles. The broad range of funding areas extends from cultural participation and social engagement to vocational training and urban development.
