Description
The Foundation for Social Psychiatry supports non-profit organizations and public institutions throughout Germany that are engaged in social and community psychiatry. In its commitment to treating people with mental illnesses with respect and on an equal footing, it supports innovative and sustainable model projects, civic initiatives, research work, as well as educational offerings and professional events. A prerequisite for funding is the classification of the project within social and community psychiatry, a clear focus on innovation and sustainability, and alignment with the statutory purposes of the DGSP. Individual persons and personal concerns are not considered. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no deadline.
The selection is based on the criteria of innovativeness, long-term impact, and orientation towards recovery and inclusion. Funded projects strengthen the self-determination and participation of people with mental impairments, contribute to destigmatization, and promote social cohesion. Through financial support, successful approaches are to be made visible, further developed, and transferred to other regions. The Foundation thus provides a reliable basis for forward-looking programs that contribute to the advancement of social psychiatric care and sustainably anchor the commitment to mental health.
