Description
The Hamburger Wohnen Foundation supports non-profit organizations, educational and public institutions that are active in Hamburg city areas with housing stock from the Baugenossenschaft Hamburger Wohnen. The goal is to strengthen neighborhood interaction among cultures and generations as well as to sustainably improve the social environment. Projects are funded in the fields of children and youth, culture, education, social cohesion, vocational training and further education, work & social affairs, and rural development. The foundation places special emphasis on initiatives that promote international understanding, inclusion, and intergenerational engagement within the neighborhoods, thereby making a tangible contribution to vibrant communities.
Applications can be submitted continuously via the official application form, which can be downloaded from the foundation’s website and, once completed with signature and, if applicable, stamp, must be sent by mail. Additionally required are proof of non-profit status (tax office notice) and a project description in the concrete planning phase. Projects that have already been implemented or completed cannot be funded. The requested funding amount and the intended use must be transparently presented in the cost and financing plan. Upon completion of the project, a final report, meaningful photos for publication, and proof of expenditure must be submitted. Through this transparent awarding practice, the Hamburger Wohnen Foundation aims to sustainably contribute to strengthening social cohesion in the Hamburg districts it supports.
