Funding of the Foundation "House of Youth and Technology" (Project Funding within the Foundation's Purpose)

The "House of Youth and Technology" Foundation in Thuringia continuously supports projects that impart practical and technical-scientific skills to children and adolescents. Funding is provided to non-profit organizations, public institutions, companies, and educational establishments active in the fields of education as well as vocational and further training. Applicants submit a project description, a financing plan, and, if applicable, a cooperation agreement to implement the development and construction of model structures, electronic components, or the restoration of historically technical devices and vehicles. Project funding is granted as a subsidy and can be applied for at any time.

The aim of the funding is to strengthen manual skills and creative teamwork and to foster a sustainable interest in natural sciences as well as the history of technology. Evaluation criteria include relevance to the foundation's purpose, the development of practical STEM competencies, and the promotion of creative collaborative work. The foundation awards grants within Thuringia and enables broad networking through cooperation with other legal entities. Through this support, children and adolescents have the opportunity to become acquainted with regional technological-historical focal points of the precision mechanical-optical industry, railway technology, and vehicle engineering. The initiative thus offers a hands-on approach to forward-looking research and development topics while simultaneously raising awareness of local technological history.
