Description

The Heimat Niedersachsen Foundation – Homeland • Culture • Nature supports non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, as well as public institutions based in Lower Saxony that are dedicated to the protection, preservation, research, and communication of Lower Saxony’s natural and cultural heritage. Ongoing support is provided for measures in environmental and nature conservation, the historic cultural landscape, as well as monument preservation and archaeology. Funded projects range from the maintenance of regional languages such as Low German and Sater Frisian to educational initiatives that provide insights into state and regional history. The foundation’s goal is to preserve the diversity and distinctiveness of the homeland and to empower citizens through engagement in homeland preservation.
