Support for the Foundation Kinder fördern – Creating a Future

The foundation Kinder fördern – Zukunft stiften is a nationwide funding institution that has been supporting projects since its establishment in 2010 in Stuttgart, which provide young people – regardless of their social and economic background – with opportunities for a self-determined life. Founded by the Stuttgart-based children's magazine publisher Christian Neuber, the foundation is committed to the targeted use of funds in the areas of social affairs, children and youth, migration, education, as well as work and vocational training. A special focus is placed on promoting reading and media education approaches to sustainably foster both the handling of digital media and the joy of the printed word.

The primary goal of the initiative is to develop innovative projects and support existing measures that establish meaningful and responsible media use for the benefit of young people. Financial grants are awarded to non-profit organizations that wish to implement their projects in the field of reading promotion and can provide proof of non-profit status. Through this funding, structures are to be created that not only contribute to imparting reading skills but also strengthen media literacy in times of digital challenges. The foundation operates with a minimized administrative cost model, so that almost all proceeds flow directly into the projects, thereby creating sustainable impulses.

With ongoing funding opportunities, the foundation offers continuous support for projects that open up perspectives for a self-determined and fulfilling life for children and young people. The funding program is particularly aimed at organizations that want to implement innovative ideas in the areas of reading promotion and media education while responding to a broad spectrum of social challenges.
