Description
The Foundation for Child- and Family-Friendly Melsungen supports non-profit associations, public institutions, and private individuals in Melsungen with voluntary project grants. Initiatives that fulfill the foundation’s purpose – measures for the education, training, and care of children and youth, offers to reconcile family and work, as well as intergenerational projects – are funded. The focus is on projects in the areas of education, music, counseling, health, culture & media, as well as engagement for social cohesion and democracy. Funding covers personnel costs, materials and consumables, travel and accommodation expenses, as well as other project-related costs, provided that no commercial purposes are pursued and a recognizable benefit for children, youth, and families arises. Close networking with other local actors is positively evaluated and contributes to sustainable effects throughout the entire district of Hesse.
Interested applicants submit a written application with a detailed financing plan, consent declarations (GDPR, image, audio, and video recordings), final report, and proof of use by January 31 of the respective funding year at the latest to the Children and Family Office. Allocation takes place after reviewing the funding requirements and evaluation criteria – in particular fulfillment of the foundation’s purpose, sustainable benefit, and networking potential – by the board of trustees at the beginning of March. Final reports and proofs of use must be submitted promptly upon project completion, no later than the end of the year. This transparent procedure ensures targeted allocation of grants and helps to strengthen family-friendly Melsungen in the long term.
