Description
The Foundation Life in Old Age supports non-profit organizations and public institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia that are dedicated to residential elderly care within the AWO district of Western Westphalia. With an award granted every three years amounting to €3,000, particularly innovative and needs-oriented approaches are recognized. Funded are model projects such as sensory gardens for people with dementia, snoezelen rooms, novel senior centers, as well as research initiatives aimed at improving care quality. In individual cases, the foundation also supports needy residents suffering from old-age poverty or unable to finance participation. The continuous allocation of grants enables flexible responses to social and health challenges in elderly care.
Eligible to participate are non-profit or public sponsors based in the districts of Siegen-Wittgenstein, Olpe, or the Western Westphalia area. Funding covers expenses for material costs, infrastructure measures, and project personnel costs.
