Description

The Marienwerder-Havelse Foundation, as a non-independent church foundation in Lower Saxony, supports both charitable and private initiatives equally and is particularly aimed at public institutions, private individuals, and organizations. With a focus on church-related, cultural, and social work in the districts of Marienwerder and Havelse, it contributes to the sustainable assurance of theological, professional, and voluntary presence. Projects promoting the adoption and transmission of the Christian faith, initiatives for the development of contemporary forms of Christian expression, ecumenical and church partnership activities, cultural as well as church musical events, and educational or group work within the community context are supported. A long-term goal includes, among other things, the preservation of a pastoral position to stabilize community life despite declining allocations from the regional church.

Primarily interested are church congregations, cultural initiatives, and social groups wishing to implement their projects in Marienwerder and Havelse. Applications can be submitted continuously in writing to the foundation board. Eligible applicants are individuals or legal entities conducting church-related, cultural, or social work in Marienwerder. A non-repayable grant of up to 50% of the total project costs is awarded; a higher funding amount requires a separate justification with regard to the foundation’s statutory purposes and the financial situation of the applicants. Theological presence-oriented projects are given priority as an evaluation criterion. Submission requires a detailed project description, a financing plan, and specification of the requested funding amount. Upon completion of the project, a report including proof of fund utilization must be submitted.
