Description
Since 2003, the MITstiften Foundation of the Diaconal Work Fürth e.V. has been supporting diaconal initiatives in the city and district of Fürth when public funds are insufficient. As a non-profit organization in Bavaria, it offers unbureaucratic grants for projects dedicated to accompanying the lives of elderly and lonely people, strengthening social networks in the neighborhood, or advising caregiving relatives. Funding is exclusively directed at diaconal institutions as well as social projects based in the region and is provided on an ongoing basis, allowing applications to be submitted at any time.
The funds provided are used to initiate and sustainably anchor innovative projects in the areas of social space orientation, self-help assistance, and palliative care. Already implemented measures include the installation of dementia protection systems in nursing homes, the expansion of counseling services for relatives, and training for staff in the holistic care of terminally ill patients. In this way, the foundation contributes to social cohesion and the strengthening of democratic participation locally. Funding requirements, in addition to non-profit status, include a clear project location in the city or district of Fürth and a diaconal focus. The decision on fund allocation is made by a volunteer board of trustees that values sustainable effects and professional implementation. This ensures that the foundation’s capital and its proceeds are preserved permanently and benefit people in the region.
