Description

The funding from the “miteinander leben” Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations in North Rhine-Westphalia and focuses on inclusion projects for people with physical and multiple disabilities. A particular emphasis is placed on inclusive living in mixed multi-family houses in Cologne, which includes both shared apartments and individual units for groups with varying levels of support needs. The goal of the grant is to create barrier-free living structures without an institutional character, integrating both severely disabled and non-disabled individuals. This aims to sustainably strengthen neighborhood relationships, self-determined participation, and everyday support. Applications can be submitted continuously – there is no fixed deadline.

In addition to investments in living space, funding also covers material costs such as furnishings and furniture, the development of leisure activities, as well as the purchase of a disability-accessible car for everyday mobility. A project location in Cologne and a commitment to inclusive living arrangements are prerequisites. The grants enable tailored support for initiatives that develop sustainable structures for barrier-reduced living and leisure activities in close cooperation with experts and neighbors. The flexible application process offers organizations diverse opportunities to effectively and appropriately implement inclusion locally and to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in the long term.
