Funding by the Foundation for Environmental and Damage Prevention of SV SparkassenVersicherung enables interdisciplinary projects for the research, prevention, and mitigation of environmental and natural hazards throughout Germany. As a grant for scientists, research institutions, universities, non-profit organizations, as well as companies and foundations, it supports research initiatives, networking efforts, and innovative approaches. The goal is to strengthen societal resilience and develop sustainable strategies for damage prevention. Ongoing submission opportunities provide flexible timeframes to promptly advance new questions in the areas of climate protection, energy efficiency, disaster management, and environmental or nature conservation. A sample funding application is available for download and serves as the basis for formal application submission.

Evaluation is based on clearly defined quality criteria: innovation content, relevance to damage prevention, and consideration of sustainability aspects are the focus of the review. In addition to the completed funding application, a detailed project description and a cost and financing plan are required for submission. The initiative is aimed at all actors who, with ambitious concepts, have the potential to identify environmental and climate risks early and establish effective prevention measures. With this continuously open funding line, the foundation makes a forward-looking contribution to risk reduction and the preservation of vital ecosystems.
