Description

The funding provided by the Wald schafft Zukunft Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and educational institutions in Baden-Württemberg and Brandenburg. Eligible for funding are independently planned initiatives in development cooperation, particularly educational programs in the Global South, as well as local environmental protection measures. The focus is on the conversion of pine monocultures into near-natural mixed forests, projects for species protection, and the strengthening of insect biodiversity. Eligible applicants are partners both in Germany and in the Global South who operate according to the principles of sustainability and self-help and act independently of political and religious affiliations. Funding is provided in the form of grants and can be applied for on an ongoing basis.

With the aim of strengthening the human right to education while simultaneously counteracting global species extinction, the Foundation places special emphasis on sustainability aspects, the effectiveness of educational concepts, and the contribution to nature conservation and biodiversity when selecting projects. Applications must include a detailed project description, a realistic financing plan, and a coherent sustainability concept. Since applications can be submitted year-round, this program offers a flexible opportunity to implement educational and environmental initiatives with long-term impact. The Foundation not only supports knowledge transfer and training opportunities in the Global South but also makes a sustainable contribution to climate protection and rural development in Germany.
