Description

The World Heritage Garden City Falkenberg and Schillerpark Settlement of Berlin Modernism Foundation is committed to the preservation and vibrant development of these outstanding UNESCO World Heritage sites in Berlin. The focus of the funding activities lies on conservation and substance-preserving measures for historic residential buildings and green spaces, complemented by targeted public relations and professional networking with international World Heritage partners such as the “European Modernism.” Furthermore, the foundation supports the publication and promotion of works with a cultural or scientific focus to deepen the understanding of the significance of the settlements and to further stimulate discourse in the field of architectural culture.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, public institutions, educational establishments, as well as associations and interest groups that implement projects in the areas of monument preservation, cultural heritage, or cultural mediation for the Garden City Falkenberg and the Schillerpark Settlement. Grants can be applied for restoration work on buildings, substance-preserving interventions in green spaces, measures to increase public visibility, and the production of professional publications. The foundation offers continuous opportunities for application, whereby non-profit status or public sponsorship as well as a coherent concept for the care and presentation of the World Heritage must be demonstrated as prerequisites.
