Description

The Zukunft für Berlin Foundation supports innovative projects through its funding program that are aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults in the Berlin metropolitan area. The initiative primarily targets non-profit organizations whose efforts focus on establishing meeting places, promoting youth exchange, and integrating disadvantaged young people, particularly in the Berlin districts of Marzahn, Hellersdorf, and Lichtenberg. This grant program lays the foundation for sustainable educational and integration offerings while simultaneously strengthening social cohesion within the city. A written application, ideally submitted about two to three months before the project start, is a prerequisite for applying for financial resources and ensuring the success of the initiatives.

The funding initiative links the areas of education, vocational training, as well as work and social affairs, thereby addressing independent providers and non-profit initiatives that can actively contribute to the development and design of valuable services. The decisive factor for approval is the detailed presentation of the project description along with a well-founded financial plan outlining all relevant measures and cost items. It should be noted that certain expenses, such as personnel costs and fees, are not eligible for funding. The Foundation places particular emphasis on supporting projects that make a valuable contribution to society through creative and sustainable solutions, especially in disadvantaged neighborhoods. The ongoing application process offers considerable flexibility, enabling organizations to submit individual funding requests without being bound to rigid deadlines.

The Foundation’s initiative is a significant impetus for social and cultural progress in Berlin. With the goal of promoting the development of young people and breaking down social barriers, the program creates the basis for innovative and forward-looking projects in education and leisure. Attention is paid to a transparent and structured application process that documents both the concrete project progression and the sustainable use of funding. By pooling qualified ideas and the commitment of numerous organizations, an active exchange among diverse stakeholders is facilitated, strengthening social cohesion. Thus, the funding makes an important contribution to positioning the city of Berlin as a place of opportunity and directing the focus toward an inclusive and progressive future.
