Description
The Ursula Fischer-Schwanhäußer and Gebhard Schönfelder Foundation supports non-profit organizations, interest groups, public institutions, and educational providers in Bavaria (Greater Nuremberg area) as well as in Berlin in creating genuine opportunities for participation for children and young people from socially disadvantaged or migration-affected backgrounds. The focus of the funding is on artistic-creative approaches – particularly in the fields of music and dance – as well as sustainable educational and encounter formats. Through projects that use creative processes as a universal language, young people are enabled to build self-confidence, break down social barriers, and establish a stable network within the urban community. The foundation’s purpose specifically aims at improving equal opportunities and reducing structural obstacles for adolescents.
Eligible for funding are initiatives based or operating in the Greater Nuremberg area or Berlin that plan a project lasting at least 36 months and are characterized by artistic creativity, social orientation, and sustainability. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline. Grants of up to €20,000 per year are possible. Supported measures are those that achieve sustainable effects, place adolescents at the center, and strengthen social cohesion. Particular emphasis is placed on the quality of the artistic-creative concept, the long-term perspective for participants, and the impact on the local community during the selection process. The foundation invites interested parties to submit project ideas and thereby actively contribute to promoting participation and equal opportunities.
