Funding requirements

  • Producer organizations and their associations must be recognized under agricultural market structure law.
  • Producer groups for quality products must have at least 5 members and be established for the long term, at least 5 years.
  • For investment projects, companies must utilize at least 40% of their intake capacity for the agricultural products to be promoted through supply contracts with associations or individual producers for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Investment projects must contribute to the reduction of climate-damaging emissions or to the improvement of resource efficiency.
  • Companies must demonstrate the economic viability of the operation and the project.

Description

The program “Promotion of the processing and marketing of agricultural products (market structure improvement)” of the State of Baden-Württemberg supports companies, cooperatives, interest groups, and other associations in the field of agriculture & rural development. With a grant of up to 75% for recognized producer organizations and up to 40% for investment projects, it contributes to increasing the competitiveness and efficiency of the processing and marketing of agricultural products. The focus is on measures to bundle offers, reduce climate-damaging emissions, and create revenue advantages for agricultural producers. Both start-up costs and organizational expenses as well as expenditures for technical equipment, storage, cooling, sorting, processing, and packaging are eligible for funding.

A prerequisite for funding is recognition under agricultural market structure law or a coalition of at least five members with a long-term commitment of at least five years. Investments must contractually utilize 40% of the capacity with producers over a period of at least five years and make a demonstrable contribution to resource efficiency or emission reduction. Eligible expenses include, among others, personnel and business costs, hardware and software, new and expanded technical capacities, as well as architectural and engineering services. In contrast, expenses for seeds, plant protection products, land acquisition, passenger cars, leasing, primary production, and projects already started are excluded. Applications can be submitted at any time before the start of the measure to the responsible regional council in Baden-Württemberg.
