Description
The VR Foundation of the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken in Northern Germany supports non-profit initiatives in Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt and, as a legally recognized foundation under civil law, provides funds from the net proceeds of VR Profit Savings. Applications can be submitted by private individuals, associations, foundations, and other non-profit organizations, provided their registered office is located in one of the aforementioned regions and the project focuses on cultural, social, or environmental priorities. The thematic areas include art and culture, monument and heritage preservation, education and training, energy efficiency and climate protection, as well as commitment to social cohesion and democracy. The type of funding is provided in the form of grants that support project costs or municipal infrastructure measures. Since the foundation provides ongoing funding, flexible planning remains possible and contributes to the sustainable implementation of innovative projects.
For the application, a detailed project description including a statement from the involved Volksbank/Raiffeisenbank is required. Additionally, a financing plan with proof of secured financing shares, the statutes, cost estimates, and, if applicable, proof of monument status and a presentation of the communicative presence must be submitted. The complete documents should be submitted at least five weeks before the decision meetings to ensure a smooth process. The foundation board decides on the allocation based on the recommendation of the advisory board in three annual meetings. Interested initiatives thus gain uncomplicated access to financial support and actively contribute to cultural, social, and ecological change in Northern Germany.
