Description
The Waldoni Children and Youth Foundation supports non-profit organizations in Hesse that implement socially oriented projects in the fields of circus, art, and experiential education. The focus is on programs for drug and violence prevention as well as educational and participation initiatives for children and young people from disadvantaged urban areas. Since its founding in 2006, the foundation has continuously provided grants to sustainably strengthen personality development, social skills, and health prevention. Applications are accepted at any time and are exclusively directed at non-profit organizations active in the circus or art education sectors.
With its funding, the foundation supports weekly play circles for kindergarten children as well as school projects, holiday courses, and art education workshops. Participants learn juggling, acrobatics, and teamwork, developing trust and responsibility. Creative techniques from the sculpture workshop and music education elements are integrated alongside projects for integration and creative career orientation, for example in the domestic science or workshop areas. The foundation’s projects reach around 120 boys and girls per week and make an important contribution to the prevention of addiction and violence risks. Through successful experiences in the ring, bridges are built between different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, empowering young people to discover perspectives in school, career, and community.
