Support for the White Stork Foundation Minden-Lübbecke

Funding from the White Stork Foundation Minden-Lübbecke strengthens the preservation and protection of white stork populations in North Rhine-Westphalia through targeted support of extensively used wet meadows and pastures. Non-profit organizations such as nature conservation associations, local environmental initiatives, and interested private individuals can continuously apply for grants for maintenance and development measures. The focus is on the upkeep of meadows and shrub borders, the care of small water bodies and water edges, as well as the professional pruning of pollarded willows and hedges. Additionally, the foundation supports monitoring and success evaluation as well as public relations to accompany long-term effective nature conservation strategies and make their effectiveness visible and comprehensible.

The funding program aims to preserve and further develop feeding areas for the white stork in a near-natural management condition. To this end, the foundation particularly contributes to the partial financing of higher maintenance costs arising from reduced fertilization, the avoidance of plant protection products, and the reduction of drainage measures. Applications and donations can be submitted at any time to ensure continuous support of the measures. Through the combination of practical landscape management and accompanying public relations, the White Stork Foundation makes an important contribution to climate and species protection as well as to strengthening regional environmental awareness.
