Description

The Werhahn Foundation specifically supports non-profit organizations in North Rhine-Westphalia that promote disadvantaged children, adolescents, and young adults. The focus is particularly on projects rooted at locations of Wilh. Werhahn KG, for example in Neuss, which advance equal opportunities and social integration through innovative approaches. Ideas that strengthen the individual potential of young people and achieve sustainable impacts for the region are funded. The funding areas include education, commitment to social cohesion and democracy, work & social affairs, as well as rural development – always with the aim of enabling participation and creating development spaces for participants.

Interested applicants submit a project outline of no more than two pages, which, in addition to a description of the organization, also includes the project idea and the financing requirements. Submission deadlines are March 15 and September 15 each year. In the selection process, degree of innovation, equal opportunities/integration promotion, sustainability of benefits, and regional anchoring play a central role. A board of trustees then decides on the granting of funds without entitlement. As part of implementation and evaluation, the foundation gladly acknowledges the conferred benefits in the form of reports and photographic documentation. Through this, the Werhahn Foundation makes a valuable contribution to the development of young potential and to social cohesion in the funding regions.
