Description

The Westfalen Sport Foundation is committed in North Rhine-Westphalia as a non-profit organization to the promotion of sports projects with a special focus on football and athletics in children’s, youth, and club sports. Applicants, including club associations, educational institutions, and private individuals, must be members of the Football and Athletics Association Westfalen or have submitted a corresponding membership application. The focus is on innovative club youth initiatives, cooperation between schools and sports clubs, as well as measures for health promotion and violence prevention. Emergency aid is also eligible for clubs and athletes who have fallen into hardship through no fault of their own, as well as equipment grants for socially disadvantaged young athletes. The foundation aims for an equitable distribution among projects of the association, district organizations, and clubs and supports initiatives that strengthen social participation and value orientation in sports.

Funding is granted as non-repayable grants; an appropriate own contribution is required. The board decides on the allocation in consultation with the advisory board, with the sustainability of the measure, compliance with established quality standards, and the financial own contribution serving as central evaluation criteria. Applications can be submitted continuously. Required are a completed funding application, a detailed project description with objectives, a cost and financing plan, as well as copies of the club’s statutes and the current tax exemption certificate from the tax office. These documents must be sent to the office in Kamen. Through the continuous submission option, the foundation offers flexible opportunities for club projects, qualification measures, and youth promotion – impulses for a future-oriented sports landscape in Westfalen.
