Description
The FSJ funding guideline of the Free State of Bavaria supports public entities, interest groups, and associations that provide pedagogical supervision to young adults during their Voluntary Social Year and deploy them in public-benefit institutions. Sponsors receive a flat-rate grant of €28.00 per participant and full service month to secure professional supervision and cover organizational costs. The aim is to ensure high-quality care services and to implement the FSJ in Bavaria in a labor market-neutral and public-benefit-oriented manner. This funding promotes and strengthens the further development of young people’s social engagement as well as the relief of sponsors in organizational matters.
A prerequisite for an approval notice is accreditation as a sponsor of the Voluntary Social Year, compliance with minimum quality standards, and labor market neutrality of the deployment activities. Furthermore, participants must receive a monthly pocket money allowance of at least €180.00 if accommodation and meals are provided free of charge; otherwise, the minimum payment is €360.00. Combining this funding with other grants from the Free State of Bavaria or the EU is excluded. Applications must be submitted by July 31 each year to the Center Bavaria Family and Social Affairs (ZBFS). This ensures a smooth process and sustainably promotes pedagogical quality in the Voluntary Social Year.
