Description

The state of Vorarlberg supports public institutions, interest groups, associations, and non-profit organizations in the further development of regional music education. Funding is provided for municipal and association-run music schools, private (non-profit) dance schools, as well as youth orchestras in Vorarlberg. The goal is to establish a comprehensive network of efficient educational offerings that enable children, adolescents, and adults to access musical training at socially reasonable rates. In addition to classical teaching subsidies, extracurricular music and orchestra projects, dance training, and innovative cooperative initiatives with primary schools and kindergartens are supported. This aims to broadly strengthen the artistic and personal development of the participants.

Various sub-programs with specific funding rates ranging from 19% to 38.92% are available as grant programs: personnel cost subsidies, travel cost and travel time reimbursements, project and orchestra funding, coverage of dance training costs, as well as acquisitions of instruments and equipment. Up to €12,000 can be applied for per project. Applications must be submitted in writing with all required documents – including proof of compliance with the music school statute, confirmation by the steering committee, timetables, tariff lists, project and financing plans, as well as bank confirmation and certificates. Allocation is based on pedagogical quality, cost-benefit ratio, degree of innovation, and target group relevance. Deadlines vary by sub-area: personnel cost subsidies by March 15, travel costs by January 15, dance training by March 15 and July 15 respectively, project funding and extracurricular projects are announced continuously or annually. Interested initiatives are encouraged to thoroughly review the funding guidelines of the Department of Science and Continuing Education and to submit their projects on time.
