Promotion of Animal Welfare

The program is aimed at natural and legal persons, non-profit organizations, as well as associations and public institutions in Styria that are committed to the protection and welfare of animals. With ongoing submission possibilities since August 23, 2013, projects are funded that combine both traditional animal protection measures and innovative approaches from the fields of energy efficiency and climate protection. The goal is to establish animal-friendly husbandry systems, support scientific research in animal protection, and raise public awareness – especially among youth – for species-appropriate animal husbandry. Grants of up to € 100,000 can be awarded per project.

Interested applicants must demonstrate a statewide Styria connection as well as a professional focus on animal protection. Formal requirements include a fully completed funding application form, proof of use, and for associations, a current ZVR registration. The support aims to implement sustainable, professionally sound, and transparent measures that strengthen animal protection in the long term. By combining climate and energy efficiency aspects, synergies are created that promote responsible use of natural resources as well as the rights of animals as fellow creatures. Applications can be submitted at any time without a deadline.
