Funding by the Foundation of Sparkasse Arnstadt-Ilmenau

Since its inception, the Sparkasse Arnstadt-Ilmenau Foundation has supported projects that sustainably strengthen civic engagement in Thuringia. The funded initiatives cover a broad spectrum, including art, culture, monument preservation, heritage conservation, youth promotion, education, sports, upbringing, nature and environmental protection, as well as care for the disabled and elderly. Funding is exclusively directed at non-profit organizations that distinguish themselves through projects with regional relevance or even supraregional impact within the business areas of Sparkasse Arnstadt-Ilmenau. An essential component is the required self-contribution to ensure the viability and anchoring of the projects in the region.

The Foundation focuses on supporting completed, individual projects that not only provide local impetus but also have an effect beyond the immediate environment. The projects considered are characterized by their contribution to promoting social cohesion and strengthening the identity of the region. Measures in the areas of construction and monument protection, education, social engagement, sports, environmental and nature conservation, as well as culture and media, are equally recognized. Through targeted support of initiatives, a long-term positive impact on community life is to be achieved while simultaneously creating an incentive for participation in regional development processes.

Applications are submitted informally, requiring a brief project description as well as a detailed cost and financing plan. Additionally, the current certificate of non-profit status and other relevant documents—such as concepts, cost estimates, or expert opinions—must be attached. It is important that the funded projects are not already completed or in a highly advanced stage. The Foundation places special emphasis on the appropriate self-contribution of applicants to ensure a balanced ratio between funding and own contributions. Through this funding measure, the Sparkasse Arnstadt-Ilmenau Foundation specifically supports projects that promote the social, cultural, and ecological cohesion of the region and thus provide a sustainable impetus for social togetherness.
