Description

Since 1999, the Sparkasse Märkisch-Oderland Foundation has supported non-profit initiatives in the Märkisch-Oderland district. Its commitment spans diverse areas such as art, culture, sports, and the promotion of children’s and youth projects. Through targeted funding, outstanding achievements and innovative projects in the region are to be strengthened, and cultural and sporting activities further developed. Special emphasis is placed on sustainable concepts that foster social cohesion and enable broad participation. The funding program is aimed at non-profit organizations that address the Foundation’s objectives with both established and newly initiated projects.

Within the framework of the grant system, funding amounts between €500.00 and €2,500.00 are provided to optimally support projects in the aforementioned areas. Eligible projects must provide proof of non-profit status, have their residence or business location in the Märkisch-Oderland district, and contribute their own financial resources. Applicants can submit their proposals through a structured application process, which includes a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, and a current certificate of tax exemption. Ongoing personnel costs, material expenses, and expenditures related to building maintenance are not eligible for funding, except for measures concerning monument preservation.

Applications must be submitted by the deadlines, with two separate dates set: no later than March 31, 2025, for the spring session, and by August 31, 2025, for the autumn session. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees reviews submitted projects based on their alignment with the Foundation’s goals and decides on the approval of funding. Funding is granted exclusively on a project basis, with projects that have commenced prior to the Board of Trustees meeting generally excluded. With this clearly structured procedure, the Foundation aims to ensure that innovative and sustainable projects in the fields of art, culture, sports, as well as children’s and youth promotion, receive comprehensive support and thus provide a positive impetus for the development of the entire region.
