Description

Since 1992, the Sparkassenstiftung Erfurt has been supporting projects of non-profit associations, interest groups, and public institutions in the state capital Erfurt with the proceeds from its foundation capital. Eligible to apply are organizations based in Erfurt that pursue objectives in the fields of culture, science, sports, environmental and nature conservation, child and youth promotion, health, or welfare. The board of trustees decides twice a year on the submitted applications: funding documents can be submitted by February 15 for the spring session and by September 15 for the autumn session. The goal is to strengthen local engagement and set sustainable impulses for regional development.

Approximately 60 projects are supported annually from the proceeds of the foundation’s assets, with both individual measures and coordinated initiatives being funded. The Sparkassenstiftung emphasizes diversity: from music and art projects to scientific initiatives as well as sports and environmental activities, a wide range of approaches is enabled. Both smaller grants for acquisitions and more extensive financing can be applied for. Through this support, associations and institutions are to receive a solid foundation to be effective in the long term, reach new target groups, and sustainably expand their offerings.
