Description
The call for proposals supports non-profit organizations in Vienna that implement participatory and inclusive media projects in the third media sector – particularly in community radio. Funding is provided to non-profit associations, interest groups, or companies that give underrepresented population groups a voice in broadcasting through free access and citizen participation. The funding is granted as either indefinite individual funding or overall funding in the form of a subsidy and supports projects that could not be carried out independently. A substantive, institutional, or geographical connection to the city of Vienna is as binding as the acceptance of the funding guidelines of the Municipal Department of Education and Youth (MA 13). Stigmatization, discrimination, or calls for violence contradict the ethical principles and exclude support.
Eligible applicants are legal entities based in Vienna that can demonstrate their non-profit status and non-commercial objectives. Applications can be submitted online at any time via the Amtshelfer portal and must be signed using the secure ID Austria or a declaration of consent. Required documents include the statutes or articles of association, extract from the association register or commercial register, as well as a realistic financial and material description of the project. Additionally, an income/expenditure plan including a personnel overview and a protection concept (for work with children and youth) are required. For overall funding starting from EUR 50,000, annual financial statements or asset overviews must be submitted. The formal review is conducted based on completeness, eligibility for funding, and plausibility. Approved projects receive payment after contract conclusion; proof of use is submitted electronically and reviewed upon completion. Continuous documentation and compliance with reporting obligations ensure long-term transparency towards the city of Vienna.
