Description

Funding for Mobility and Climate Protection Specialists in Baden-Württemberg is aimed at cities, districts, and administrative communities with lower traffic authorities as well as – in selected program focus areas – municipal companies and private consulting agencies (with written municipal consent). The Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg grants a 50% subsidy on personnel costs for newly established positions (at least 50% of a full-time position) to implement municipal climate protection and transport transition goals. Supported areas include pedestrian traffic and school routes, mobility stations and car-sharing, parking management, data management, electromobility, charging infrastructure, climate mobility planning, and the regional implementation of the state mobility and climate concept. The funding period is 24 months, with the position to be secured for a total of at least four years. The annual flat rates amount to €75,800 (upper intermediate service, TVöD 9b-12) or €78,600 (higher service, TVöD 13). Applications can be submitted until January 31 of a calendar year; submissions thereafter remain possible within the framework of available budget funds.

The following documents are required for a successful application: fully completed application form, detailed job description for the position profile, proof of the additionality of the position, and – for private applicants – a written consent from the municipality. KEA-BW conducts the preliminary review and forwards the application to the Ministry. The objective of the measure is the personnel development of municipal capacities to actively promote climate-friendly mobility and smart city digitalization throughout Baden-Württemberg. Interested stakeholders are encouraged to structure their project ideas according to the funding guidelines and contribute to the transport transition in the state.
