Description

In Salzburg, there is a continuously open funding opportunity that benefits alpine interest groups and clubs dedicated to nature and environmental protection in the mountains. The aim of this grant funding is the sustainable renovation and maintenance of alpine shelters and bivouacs, in order to preserve the structural integrity as well as minimize the ecological footprint in sensitive high-altitude areas. Only non-profit alpine clubs that submit a corresponding funding application and comply with the General Guidelines for Funding from the State of Salzburg are eligible. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing flexible responses to weather conditions, material availability, and local circumstances.

Essentially, all costs directly related to renovation and maintenance work on huts and emergency shelters are funded. This includes renovation measures on insulation, roofs, and windows, as well as structural repairs to load-bearing components. A prerequisite is the submission of a complete application form along with the documents required according to the guidelines. Disbursement takes place after the funding agreement becomes legally binding and in flexible partial amounts corresponding to the project progress. The measure makes an important contribution to the preservation of alpine infrastructure, supports climate-friendly construction methods, and promotes the long-term protection of sensitive mountain ecosystems.
