Funding for Aquatic Ecological Measures, Competition Participants

The promotion of aquatic ecological measures in Vorarlberg is aimed at companies, private individuals, non-profit organizations, cooperatives, and public institutions that, as holders of the water law consent for an existing facility, wish to implement remediation and reconstruction measures in flowing water sections. The goal is to improve fish passage, reduce the impacts of diversions, backwater, or surges, as well as the ecological restructuring of morphologically altered watercourse sections. As a grant program with a duration until 31.12.2027, it offers funding that serves both the conservation of ecological habitats and the sustainable use of regional water resources. The promotion is based on the current guidelines of the state of Vorarlberg as well as the nationwide funding guidelines for aquatic ecology and emphasizes a good ecological status or good ecological potential of the waters.

A prerequisite for funding is, among other things, a legally valid official approval of the planned measure as well as public interest and compliance with the state of the art. Applicants submit a complete application including project descriptions, official approvals, and accounting documents. The project duration is set at 36 months; completion after technical and financial acceptance takes place within this period. Applications can be submitted immediately until 31.12.2027. Through cooperation with the Water Management Department (VIId) of the state of Vorarlberg, comprehensive professional support and review are provided. Interested competition participants thus receive well-founded assistance to implement their aquatic ecological projects efficiently and professionally.
