Description

The funding of special education after-school groups in Vienna supports non-profit sponsoring institutions in optimizing the basic educational offerings for school-age children with disabilities and increasing the availability of inclusive services. During the funding period from September 2023 to August 2026, up to 110 officially approved special education after-school groups can be supported. The goal is to sustainably anchor the concept of inclusion in extracurricular care and to guarantee children with disabilities appropriate care times of at least 25 hours per week. As direct subsidies, the funds contribute to covering personnel costs, material costs, and proportional overhead costs (maximum 30%), thereby creating a reliable infrastructure for the pedagogical and professional support of the children cared for.

Only non-profit companies, legal entities, and associations based in Vienna that hold an official operating permit for a special education after-school group and enter into a legally binding funding agreement with the City of Vienna are eligible for funding. The grant amounts to €1,006.42 per child per month. Eligible expenses include exclusively costs directly necessary for the implementation of the special education care services. Non-eligible expenses include, among others, representation costs, travel and transportation expenses, as well as voluntary social benefits. The evaluation criteria include public interest, the substantive and spatial connection to the City of Vienna, demonstrated financial need, and compliance with all legal operating requirements. The application must include, among other documents, an income-expenditure statement, a factual report, a criminal record extract, as well as proof of approval and non-profit status.
