Description
Funding for Flood Protection for Major Projects in Tyrol is aimed at public institutions and municipal bodies implementing extensive measures for flood protection. The objective is to strengthen infrastructure and environmental safety in sensitive regions as well as to increase the climate resilience of settlement areas. Funding is exclusively provided for major projects with a total volume exceeding €10 million, which fall within the thematic areas of disaster protection, infrastructure & urban development, environmental/nature conservation, energy efficiency & climate protection, as well as labor & social affairs. Through the unlimited regional subsidy, projects can be submitted at any time, ensuring continuous support for large-scale protection initiatives.
For the funding commitment, an overarching plan according to RIWA-T (section 2.5), classification as a major project, and proof of secured total financing considering WBFG funding, own funds, and special contributions are required. Furthermore, all awards must comply with applicable procurement regulations, and implementation must be carried out in agreement with the State of Tyrol, with the state participating in planning steps and variant decisions. Supporting documents include the application form as well as the application materials according to RIWA-T. Thanks to the flexible, unlimited deadline arrangement from April 1, 2022, project managers can submit their applications at any time and thus actively contribute to the sustainable protection of Tyrol against flooding.
