Description
The funding under the Funding Guideline Energy and Climate – Adaptation to the Consequences of Climate Change supports both investment and non-investment measures in Saxony to increase climate resilience. Beneficiaries include, in addition to municipal authorities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as private individuals, foundations, and non-profit organizations. Eligible measures include structural heat protection measures on buildings, rainwater retention and flood prevention, infrastructure adaptations, greening measures, as well as complex and exemplary projects that contribute a tangible added value to climate resilience based on existing concepts. In the non-investment area, the development of data and decision-making bases, climate adaptation concepts, climate coaching, and external consulting services are supported. Depending on the type and scope of the measure, 75–80% of eligible expenses are granted as subsidies. Large investment projects benefit from an adjusted maximum aid rate, while small enterprises benefit from higher intensities.
Prior to application, online access via the SAB funding portal is required. The project description, proof of economic viability, and proof of use are mandatory documents. A positive approval requires activity in the field of climate adaptation at the investment location in Saxony and compliance with the state aid regulations of the ERDF. Applications can be submitted at any time on an ongoing basis. The Saxon Development Bank – Förderbank – (SAB) administers the program on behalf of the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection and provides extensive information on legal bases, funding rates, and application procedures.
