Promotion of Innovative Energy Concepts

In Tyrol, a regional program promotes pioneering flagship projects that stand out due to high energy efficiency and a pronounced degree of innovation. The goal is to support technological concepts for the use of domestic energy resources and the replacement of fossil fuels, which have little chance of realization due to market conditions. The funding is aimed at companies, public institutions, and non-profit organizations and is continuously available. Since January 1, 2013, applications can be submitted at any time to provide sustainable impulses for the energy transition and to achieve long-term cost reductions.

Only projects with high exemplary value that would not be feasible without subsidies are funded. A detailed technical description must be submitted with the application, outlining the innovative concept and the expected efficiency gains in detail. In the selection process, criteria such as energy efficiency, degree of innovation, and contribution to the energy transition play a central role. By supporting emerging flagship projects, not only practical experience is gained, but incentives for further initiatives are also created. Thus, the program makes a significant contribution to aligning Tyrol's energy system to be future-proof and decentralized.
