Description
The funding of international cooperation projects enables private individuals in Vienna to jointly implement time-limited, non-profit research initiatives together with partners from abroad. The aim is to support scientists from all disciplines in Austria who comprehensively present objectives and methodology in their project proposals. The grant is provided as a direct subsidy and covers both personnel costs and material expenses, provided these exceed the existing infrastructure of the respective research institution. Since the budget is not limited, committed researchers can continuously submit applications and contribute to strengthening international networking in the long term.
A prerequisite for successful funding is activity in Austria, proven professional qualification, as well as sufficient available capacity and infrastructure to carry out the project. Each application undergoes an international peer-review process, in which experienced experts from the scientific community conduct an independent evaluation. Based on these recommendations, the board of trustees of the Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research decides on the grant. Ongoing submission without a deadline offers maximum flexibility and ensures that innovative research collaborations can be supported at any time.
