Description

The Job Offensive 50plus promotes subsidized employment relationships to reintegrate unemployed Viennese aged 50 and over into the labor market. The program is managed by the Vienna Public Employment Service (AMS Wien) and the Vienna Employees Promotion Fund (waff). From 01.01.2025 to 31.12.2026, the City of Vienna, together with AMS Wien, supports companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions through a direct subsidy for wages and ancillary wage costs for up to eight months. The goal is to make the professional skills and experience of older job seekers available again and to strengthen a more mobile, crisis-resistant skilled labor potential. Through the integration subsidy according to § 34 AMSG-Job Offensive 50+, long-term unemployed persons, recipients of minimum income benefits, as well as persons with a disability affecting their earning capacity, are specifically supported.

Eligible participants are unemployed Viennese who have been registered with AMS Wien for at least twelve months—or recipients of minimum income benefits with at least three months of unemployment—and are over 50 years of age. A reduction in earning capacity of more than 50% may allow for an exemption. Companies and organizations commit to continuing the subsidized employment beyond the funding period. Prior to the start of employment, a statement and application submission to AMS Wien is required, followed by a supplementary application to waff within six weeks after receiving the AMS notification. For the formalities, the AMS notification of the integration subsidy, the waff application including the declaration of commitment, as well as the final accounting documents from AMS are required. Payments are made monthly in arrears, with the final installment paid upon receipt of all accounting documents.
