Support for Young Coma Patients (Andreas Hahn Foundation)

The Andreas Hahn Foundation has been committed since 1996 to the rehabilitation of young coma patients and young adults with severe traumatic brain injuries in northern Rhineland-Palatinate. Private individuals as well as non-profit organizations can continuously apply for grants to finance individual assistive devices and therapeutic measures. Eligibility criteria include residence in the target region and proof of a comatose state or severe traumatic brain injury. The focus is on targeted support to sustainably counteract physical, mental, and social impairments and to create the best possible conditions for an independent life for those affected.

Expenses for medical-technical aids as well as innovative projects aimed at optimizing therapeutic processes and rehabilitation programs are funded. The grants provided close a gap that is often not covered by cost bearers. The foundation places great importance on transparency and effectiveness of the funded measures and reviews applications promptly and without bureaucracy. Interested parties from northern Rhineland-Palatinate receive all necessary information for application directly from the Andreas Hahn Foundation – continuous funding enables sustainable progress in the healing process and contributes to the social participation of those affected.
