Description
The funding of crime prevention measures and projects in Rhineland-Palatinate offers targeted support for initiatives that prevent violence and crime as well as sustainably promote societal values. The grant is provided as a subsidy with a funding rate of 80% and is aimed at public institutions, educational establishments, non-profit organizations, and private individuals. The intention is to strengthen projects dedicated to combating extremism, racism, anti-Semitism, and group-related hostility, while contributing to the transmission and preservation of societal norms and values. The funding program covers eligible expenses such as fees and material costs and requires a detailed project proposal, proof of use, and a cost and financing plan as part of the application process. All measures must be applied for before the project begins to ensure transparent and effective use of funds.
The focus of the funding is on supporting projects that make a direct contribution to security and social cohesion through preventive action. The program places special emphasis on the character of crime prevention, the degree of innovation, and the sustainable impact of the measures. Cooperation and interdisciplinary approaches that address current local needs are promoted. Projects initiated and implemented directly by local municipal prevention committees are given particular priority. Through these measures, a safe, free, and democratic living environment is to be created in which all participants—regardless of gender and origin—can engage and learn from one another.
Applications must be submitted in writing or electronically at least two months before the start of the measure and are addressed to the responsible granting authority in Rhineland-Palatinate. The evaluation of submitted projects is based on established criteria such as the violence- and crime-preventive character, innovativeness, sustainability, cooperation potential, and local relevance. By submitting an application, applicants confirm that they meet all necessary requirements and are prepared to provide a thorough proof of use. This funding instrument thus makes an important contribution to strengthening preventive work on site and supports the development of stable municipal structures that promote social cohesion.
