Funding objective
Structured individual support and care for athletes with potential on their path to the international elite through basic funding, bonuses, and project funding, as well as extensive support services in training infrastructure, sports science, sports medicine, sports physiotherapy, sports psychology, nutritional counseling, career planning, and media.

Description
The NÖ Elite Sports Squad funding supports athletes with Austrian citizenship who are at least 14 years old, have competed for a Lower Austrian club for at least three years, and are members of a recognized Lower Austrian sports federation. The goal is structured, individualized support on the path to international excellence. The grant is awarded as basic funding (a fixed amount depending on the squad level, up to €3,000), athletic bonuses and media bonuses (each up to €2,500), as well as project funding (up to 33.33% of recognized costs). Applications are accepted continuously and must be submitted no later than before the start of the upcoming competition season. The funding period is twelve months and can be renewed annually based on performance.
In addition to financial support, the funding includes extensive support services in the areas of training infrastructure, sports science, sports medicine, sports physiotherapy, sports psychology, nutritional counseling, career planning, and media relations. Prerequisites for squad classification include a sports medical examination (not older than six months), a sports science potential check, proof of club membership, squad classification by the responsible federation, and compliance with anti-doping regulations. Expenses that are covered elsewhere or can be assumed by insurance providers are not funded. Selection is based on performance potential, past achievements, media marketing potential, and individual development prognosis. Through this holistic concept, the State of Lower Austria sustainably promotes talent and establishes elite sports in the region.
