Description
The funding is aimed at Lower Austrian interest groups or clubs with a special focus on sports, representing people with physical or sensory impairments, which are registered in the association register, recognized by the Lower Austrian State Sports Council, and members of the Lower Austrian Sports Advisory Board. The goal is the partial support of expenses for fulfilling the core tasks in association operations as well as ensuring regular training activities for competitive and elite athletes (basic and measure funding). Eligible expenses include, among others, employer costs for association staff, costs for sports infrastructure, expenses for sports coordination and support measures such as sports medicine or physiotherapy, as well as travel costs for training camps and competitions. The funding amount is 50% of the documented expenses and is available indefinitely. Applications can be submitted continuously, with basic and measure funding to be submitted no later than three months after the start of the association’s fiscal year.
Additionally, the project funding offers partial financing of individual expenses for competitive and elite athletes in preparation for international major sports events. Athletes from the age of 14 with Austrian citizenship, actively competing in a Lower Austrian club, not subject to any doping proceedings, and meeting defined squad criteria are eligible. Applications for summer athletes must be submitted by December 31, and for winter athletes by June 30. The complete application includes application forms for both funding areas, attachments regarding the club list and quality features of association management, employment contracts of association staff, a description of planned measures with a budget plan, as well as completed applications from eligible athletes. The clear structure of the evaluation criteria – ranging from the number of clubs and coordination to sporting achievements and individual funding needs – ensures transparent allocation and enables sustainable strengthening of disabled and deaf sports in Lower Austria.
