Description

The funding program of the state of Baden-Württemberg supports cities, districts, municipalities, and municipal associations in the development of qualified technical concepts for sustainable mobility and climate protection in transport. With a grant of up to €200,000 per project, material costs for specialist offices, personnel costs of knowledgeable third parties, public participation measures, as well as data collection and analysis are funded. A minimum own contribution of 10% and project commencement only after approval are prerequisites. The maximum funding amount is 50% of eligible costs; in certain areas such as parking space concepts and mobility, climate, and noise protection action plans, an increased rate of 75% applies until the end of 2025. Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2027, with a maximum project duration of 36 months.

The technical concepts may come from a variety of thematic fields, including cycling, pedestrian, or school route plans, climate mobility and action plans, charging infrastructure, parking space and mobility station concepts, as well as bus and traffic modeling. Each application requires a completed application form, a cost and financing plan, and an offer from a specialist office. Expenses for room rental or catering are not eligible for funding. The concepts lay the foundation for follow-up funding under the State Municipal Transport Financing Act and increase the efficiency of municipal transport investments. The funding is based on the legal foundations of the State Budget Code as well as the General Terms and Conditions for Project Funding to Municipal Corporations. After the approval period expires, proof of use must be submitted, including the completed concept, financial overview, and resolution on the implementation decision.
