Description

The Gabriele-Karola and Martin Hill Foundation supports talented, determined young people from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein on their path to vocational training in banking or a bank-related degree program. Priority is given to applicants with a migration or refugee background as well as those from low-income or challenging family circumstances – for example, half or full orphans, refugees, or individuals from crisis regions who wish to apply their acquired expertise in their home countries. A prerequisite for funding is a training contract or enrollment in a degree program at one of the cooperating cooperative banks (Hamburger Volksbank eG, Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG, VR Bank zwischen den Meeren eG, Raiffeisenbank eG). Financial support is provided in the form of scholarships, grants for professional literature or rent, as well as prize money including a medal for outstanding training results.

Applications can be submitted at any time and require a written application including an extended personal statement, a cost calculation of the training or study project, as well as disclosure of any existing funding commitments and personal financial circumstances. The foundation accepts applications year-round and honors particularly successful trainees and graduates with additional awards. Through this targeted financial and non-material support, the foundation helps ensure that training goals are not hindered by origin, grades, or economic obstacles, thereby creating long-term prospects for committed young professionals in the cooperative financial sector.
