Description

The guideline "Promoting Synergies to Create Rural Tourism" of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Environment and Consumer Protection Brandenburg is aimed at SMEs, interest groups, and associations that wish to deepen cooperation between agriculture, food production, and rural tourism in Brandenburg. Funding is provided for concepts that network and jointly market rural tourism offerings – from regional direct marketing initiatives to culinary-focused events and digital service and marketing measures. The focus is particularly on projects that contribute to balanced spatial development of rural areas by involving new consumer groups (e.g., children, young adults) and tapping source markets outside Berlin/Brandenburg. With funding rates of up to 90% for networking measures and 70% for marketing expenses, personnel costs, material costs, and a flat rate of 15% overhead can be supported over a project period of up to 36 months. Applications can be submitted continuously via the LELF’s online application system IAP until the selection deadline of June 30, 2026.

Project selection is based on defined criteria such as the culinary profiling of the state of Brandenburg, digitalization and ecological transformation in rural tourism, cooperation between primary producers and tourism actors, as well as the reach of publications and events. Submission documents include, among others, a detailed cooperation concept, calculations for personnel and material costs, proof of SME status and non-entitlement to input tax deduction, as well as declarations regarding other public grants. Applicants should demonstrate how their projects will have statewide significance and contribute to the implementation of Brandenburg’s tourism strategy. Funds are limited – therefore, careful preparation of project documents is recommended to achieve maximum points in the selection process and to optimally utilize the innovation potential of rural tourism.
