Description

The funding to compensate severance pay claims supports employees in training institutions financed by the Public Employment Service (AMS). Public and non-profit organizations nationwide can apply for grants to cover the costs of severance payments. The focus is particularly on claims acquired before December 31, 2001. The aim is to ensure reliable reserve formation by the organizations and to minimize financial burdens arising from severance payments. As a direct funding measure in the fields of labor and social affairs, this initiative contributes to stabilizing personnel cost calculations of the participating institutions.

Grants are awarded until the available budget is exhausted; applications can be submitted continuously. Eligible to apply are all public and non-profit institutions that employ staff wholly or partially in AMS-funded training programs. Only actual severance payments made are eligible for funding. By granting this aid, employment participation is to be strengthened and unemployment sustainably reduced. This measure is based on the Public Employment Service Act (Federal Law Gazette No. 313/1994 as amended) and is an integral part of Austrian labor market policy. Organizations benefit from a straightforward application process and gain planning security in personnel budgeting within training centers.
