Description
Funding Objective and Scope
Non-profit private legal entities throughout Austria are given the opportunity, through direct grants, to implement projects of general family policy relevance or to offer psychological and therapeutic childcare in women’s shelters and women’s emergency accommodations. The focus is on initiatives of nationwide significance or innovative pilot projects that contribute to strengthening family structures. The funding can be used, among other things, for concepts aimed at better reconciling employment and family responsibilities, programs promoting father involvement, as well as social support services in crisis situations. The goal is to alleviate family emergencies, prevent intrafamilial conflicts in cases of separation and divorce, and enable professional care for children in stressful life circumstances. Since January 1, 2012, this instrument has been continuously available and is exclusively reserved for non-profit organizations.
Application Procedures and Deadlines
Applications for annual funding (funding period January 1 to December 31) must be submitted no later than December 31 of the previous year. Project proposals for initiatives starting within the current budget year can still be submitted until September 30 of the same year. A funding approval can be granted at the earliest from the day following the receipt of the application. The funding guidelines are based on the general framework guidelines (ARR 2014) and the funding conditions of the Federal Chancellery. Interested organizations can find all necessary forms and further information on the official Federal Chancellery website under the section “Project Funding for Families.”
