Description

The Schleswig-Holstein Healthcare Security Fund supports innovative care models and infrastructure measures to strengthen basic medical and nursing care in rural areas. Projects can be funded with grants of up to €500,000 and may be implemented over a period of up to 36 months. Funding is provided, among other things, for interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral concepts, the transfer of new scientific findings into everyday practice, mobile technical and digital health solutions, as well as necessary construction measures for the initial provision of services. A minimum volume of eligible expenditures of €25,000 is required, with the model’s potential for transferability to other regions being the primary focus.

Eligible applicants include outpatient contract physicians and their institutions, recognized physician networks, corporations and institutions in the healthcare sector, as well as operators of hospitals, rehabilitation, and care facilities. Municipalities, districts, offices, and special-purpose associations may also submit funding applications. Key evaluation criteria include the level of innovation, effectiveness in care quality, digitalization potential, sustainability, and transferability. Pure basic research, clinical efficacy studies, or standard care measures without an innovation reference are not funded. The funding guideline is valid until 28 February 2026; however, no applications are currently being accepted. Upon resumption of the application process, an announcement will be made by the Ministry of Justice and Health.
