Description
In Styria, the funding program supports the transition to climate-friendly biomass heating systems: A grant of 30% of the eligible investment costs, up to a maximum of €6,000, is provided for the replacement of existing fossil fuel heating systems or electric heating with pellet, wood chip, log wood, or combination boilers with a nominal heat output of up to 400 kW. Eligible applicants include private individuals, companies, educational institutions, public and non-profit organizations, interest groups, as well as other associations. Measures are funded in residential buildings as well as in schools, kindergartens, nursing homes, student dormitories, sports facilities, clubs, municipally owned buildings, and for micro-entrepreneurs.
For approval, delivery and installation must not occur before the application is submitted. The systems must comply with the emission limits according to the environmental label guideline UZ 37 and have a boiler efficiency of at least 85%; connecting pipes in the heating room must be insulated. The old system must be demonstrably taken out of operation and properly disposed of. No state funding for heating systems may have been claimed in the last ten years, and it must be proven that there is no economic connection to a suitable local/district heating network. Additionally, submission of a valid energy certificate or a subsidized energy consultation is required. Eligible costs include material and installation costs, dismantling and disposal costs, costs for controls and insulated pipes, as well as services related to the energy certificate or energy consultation. The project duration is up to 12 months. Applications can be submitted between 01.01.2025 and 31.12.2025 or as long as funds are available.
