Description
In Vorarlberg, non-profit organizations, associations, and interest groups with headquarters and a significant area of activity within the federal state are supported through grants in the field of animal welfare. The focus is particularly on renovations and refurbishments of the animal shelter approved under animal protection law, operated by the Vorarlberg Animal Welfare Association in Dornbirn. Support can also be provided for the accommodation, medical care, and feeding of surrendered animals. Additionally, measures promoting animal welfare as well as educational and public awareness projects are funded, which strengthen understanding of species-appropriate animal husbandry and raise awareness of climate-friendly and energy-efficient solutions in the context of animal shelters. Thanks to a permanent submission option without fixed deadlines, applicants can act flexibly to implement urgently needed projects.
Eligible for funding are exclusively legal entities under public law and non-profit organizations without profit motives, which demonstrate reliability according to the Animal Protection Act and do not operate agricultural enterprises for the respective measures. The funding rate ranges from 33% up to 100% depending on the category; investment measures are subsidized up to 50% (max. €15,000), accommodation and care expenses up to 40% (max. €70,000), and further animal welfare projects up to 100% of the first €3,000 and subsequently up to 33%. Covered costs include, among others, veterinary expenses, personnel costs, travel and material expenses, as well as personnel and rental costs within the framework of educational projects. Applications are submitted in writing, including a project description, financing plan, proof of offers and invoices, statutes, cost estimates, and evidence of professional qualification for funding amounts starting from €5,000.
